_{I have been receiving lots of notes asking permission to make a Gourdian, and I say: why not make this a contest. So here's the gist of it: create your own Gourdian citizen and I will choose the one that best represents the Kingdom of Gourd:

What is a Gourdian?:

Gourdians are citizens that reside within the kingdom of Gourd. All Gourdians belong to the family Cucurbitaceae, which includes cucumbers, melons, squash, and gourds. Within this family is the genus Cucurbita which includes gourds, winter and summer squash, and all varieties of pumpkin. They can be human-like, like Gordie. Or they can be actual pumpkin/gourds like BSB. So that means you are free to be as creative with your Gourdian as you like! (so long as they are within that family. Any other types (like if you're trying to make them a berry or something) and you will be disqualified)

Features:

Gourdians come in all shapes and sizes and colors. Vines are common in most Gourdians, and in some cases, they have stems growing from their heads. Remember that Vine sensitivity varies from person to person. Also, Fangs (a recessive gene) are not as common in Gourd as it may seem. Most Gourdians are born with regular teeth. Those born with regular teeth and tend to stick to a vegetarian diet, where as those with fangs tend to prefer meat in their diet. Their hair is mostly dreds, as they are born with curly hair which tend to clump together as they grow older. However, there are cases where the curls do not clump and stay curly (like Cora's hair) Freckles too are considered to be a recessive gene, so there is 1 in 4 chances your Gourdian will be born with them. As to the matter of their skin, Gourdian skin is extremely thick; hard to penetrate or cut into with regular knives/needles. Therefore, if you plan on giving your gourdian some sort of tattoo, it would need to be Scarification

Culture:

The Gourdian culture is based off of Scottland, and you will find that all, if not most, Gourdians have an accent. However, it is your choice how thick you wish for it to be or if you want your Gourdian to have an accent at all.

Occupation:

Gourd is an agricultural kingdom, such as:
*wine maker
*plant hybridizer
* dairy industry
*florist
*breeder
*Greenhouse specialist
In short: anything relating to farming

And if you wish to make them a Knight, then you are very much free to do so! A reference of their armor can be seen Here and Here because I fail at armor and thunder's admin does not and she made it look simply wonderful~

Also, most Gourdians are artisans: i.e: they are skilled with their hands, such as:
*carver
*construction worker
*glass blower
*leather worker
*metal arts worker
*potter
*silversmith/blacksmith
*stained glass artist;
*stringed instrument maker
*weaver.
the list goes on and on!
But these are just some suggestions. After all, you are free to make your Gourdian what ever he/she wants. Be creative!!

I believe that is all the basic stuff you need to know to make your own Gourdian. The contest shall begin from now until the end of November (or until the flow of entries has stopped)

First Place: Will be a drawing of their Gourdian in my own style, featured in an ask interacting with Gordie and made (whatever their occupation is) of the Royal Family. prize is subject to change if required

Second Place: An ink of their choice in AT style.

Third Place: A sketch of their choice in AT style.
